Evidence-informed Writing and Reasoning (EWR)
Weiterbildungskurs

To achieve effective results, global health leaders need to integrate evidence into their decision-making processes. To do this, they need to apply analytical skills, including science-informed information retrieval and the design and implementation of applied empirical research projects aimed at a specific, contextualised research question. The skills acquired in this course will assist global health practitioners in general and MBA in International Health students in the development of their Master’s thesis in particular.

This course aims to enhance participants’ analytical and research skills in global health management. Participants will learn how to analyse health challenges and formulate practice-oriented (research) questions. They'll be able to evaluate resources, use problem-solving, and choose qualitative and quantitative methods. The training will equip them to design research approaches for evidence-informed decisions, useful in daily tasks and, for MBA participants, in their Master thesis.

This part-time and flexible study programme caters to the needs of working professionals. More than 75% of all learning takes place at a distance, giving students the opportunity to learn and progress at their own pace. All courses adopt a blended learning approach, offering the advantages of both self-directed and face-to-face phases.

The course starts with a distance based preparation phase and is followed from an on-campus phase and the final exam. The Post-campus phase is finished with the handing of the final Assignment.
